So awhile back was Memorial Day....

Maybe two weeks ago was Memorial Day here in Korea and I was invited to visit the National Cemetery with my Korean family to visit the grave of their fallen father. It was such an honor to be invited to share in this family event. It was also an awesome time to hang out in the heat, eat good food and get some sunshine!! Here's a few pics...

Had another day in foreign town.

A day in hongdae. A cool university town with AMAZING Korean hipsters.

Cocks Bar & Darts...hehehhehe

This girl was in the subway. I loved her hair. She was such a rebel.

Hello, Kitty!

These kids were super awesome and had me sign a list to try and pressure the UN to enforce regulations on international warfare sale. The girls I talked to were in high school. I loved it!

Dope ass Korean High Tops!!

This is the drummer from the band I saw they were awesome and totally rocked. This was a picture of him using sensors on his shoulder, knee and the floor as a synth drum kit. It was soooo dope!!

˜Kiss From the Mystic˜

Then a day spent in Itaewon. Partook in a solo lunch at my favorite restaurant, Indigo. Best sammiches I've ever eaten!!

This is a chicken pesto and mozzarella sammie. SOOO GOOD.

Oh and did I mention they've got Lost Coast brew!!! LOVE this place.

I'm a super good teacher ;)

So on Saturdays I have a private tutoring class with two teenagers. Harin and Andy. This Saturday we talked about the evolution of the English language and the different original languages it was derived from. Here are pics of my notes.

The first one is a very racist diagram of Spanish conquistador and a Native American. The end result being Mexican people. Thus the spanish language in Latin America.
The second picture is a map of French and Spanish conquer. And Asia. :)

The third picture is a chart of examples between the prefixes "homo" and "hetero". On the middle of the page top of the chart you can see our most important lesson of the day, pointed out by Harin: "Homo/=Homer". She thought his name was Homo Simpson. We all had a good laugh and then Harin put a star on my notes. :)

The sweet side of psychopaths. :)

My wildest boys spent sometime cuddling with me today at school while watching a movie. Mike's (AKA Quigon Jin) on my lap in the big picture. And Tommy, the original psychopath now known as Star Wars is the lil face and sweetie resting himself on my knee in the bottom picture. I love these kiddos. :D

Oriental Medicine

Soooo, I've started seeing this Oriental Medicine doctor (and yes, mom, this use of "Oriental" is appropriate) who is going to help me detox my body and change my eating habits so that I can tell my bad health to take a leap!! However, that does mean that I had a bunch of needles stuck in my body today!! EEeeekk! It was pretty cool. Also, check out this pic of "cupping" a traditional Korean technique of removing the "bad blood" from the body. Basically the doc came in and stabbed my several times with a needle and then put these suction cups on my back. The result...GIANT HICKEYS!! :) Here's to health and new beginnings!!
